“From Animal Welfare to Bali’s Underwater Wonders”

Embarking on the journey of Diving and Dogs stems from a fusion of my profound passions for diving and animal welfare. As a scuba instructor and international school teacher since my mid-20s, my life’s chapters unfold across diverse landscapes, blending education and underwater exploration. In the earlier days, technology mirrored its contemporary form, and the memories of my adventures reside in photo albums or books tucked away in a storage facility in England. The inception of this odyssey took shape in Indonesia, prompted by a friend’s suggestion to acquire a GoPro for diving. Starting with a GoPro Hero 3 Black, my digital storytelling journey on YouTube began with exhilarating yet imperfect moves captured underwater.
The revelation of my fortunate circumstances dawned upon me during the pandemic. Residing in Indonesia, nestled within the heart of the Coral Triangle, I was surrounded by some of the world’s most extraordinary dive sites. Curiously, it wasn’t the allure of the underwater world that rekindled my passion for filming. Instead, it was an innate desire to illuminate and share the chapters of my life dedicated to caring for rescue dogs and street cats. The urge to document this meaningful journey became a driving force, prompting a return to storytelling.
My initial videos were crafted within the confines of my home (owing to the pandemic) or amidst leisurely walks with my canine companions, capturing moments even during visits to the veterinary clinic.
Join me in my next blog as we shift from animal welfare to exploring Bali’s underwater wonders and the USAT Liberty wreck.
